The tourism season is officially underway with the arrival of the Pearl Mist in Little Current.
Yesterday afternoon residents and visitors alike were treated to the arrival of the ship, which sails the Caribbean in the winter, the Great Lakes in the summer bringing some 200 visitors, most of them Americans to taste a bit of Canadian culture.
Visitors disembark and are whisked off for an afternoon exploring First Nation and the Manitoulin Island lifestyle.
The Pearl Mist is relatively new, launched in 2007 and features 100 luxury suites.
She will return to the Island several times this summer.
