Children have money to spend, especially at Christmas, and an economic development initiative in Elliot Lake wants to see them spend it locally for the Christmas holiday.
The little white building by the Trading Post and Fireside Plaza in Elliot Lake is the Elliot Lake Children’s Christmas Store, which opens every holiday season to let children come in and purchase items for their families.
Completely run by volunteers, children learn budgeting skills and how to find that perfect gift.
With support from the Elliot Lake business community, all items in the store are under $20.
The store is now open for the Holiday season.
