The Elliot Lake Standard and Mid-North Monitor in Espanola have a new owner. Quebecor is selling all its English-language papers to Postmedia which owns among other papers, the National Post. The Standard and Monitor fall under the Sun Media banner and other northern papers included in the sale are the Sudbury Star, North Bay Nugget, and Timmins Daily Press. The deal is subject to regulatory approval and could take up to six months to complete. Quebecor also owns big papers like the Toronto Sun and Ottawa Sun.
