Commercial vehicle blitz results in 30 tickets

A commercial vehicle blitz in Sudbury has resulted in two big trucks being taken off the road.   The rigs were hauled away for a variety of violations.  Sudbury police inspected 18 vehicles during the blitz and issued 30 tickets including offenses for being overweight and having an insecure load.  One driver was also given a roadside breath test because the officer could smell booze off his breath.  The driver had 20 milligrams of alcohol in his blood during the mid-morning checks.  City police conducted the blitz in conjunction with the OPP and Ministry of Transportation.
