SIU clears Sudbury police officer

A Sudbury police officer won’t have to worry that he faces charges after a man he was after claims the officer injured him.  The man fell from a second floor window in March of last year and broke his left leg.  The 45-year-old told the Special Investigations Unit that the cop pushed him out the window, then jumped on his leg and started punching away.  However nearby witnesses told the SIU the officer was nowhere near the man.  The SIU says contrary to what the man claimed that he was pushed, it ruled the man went out the window to escape police capture.  The SIU says there are no reasonable grounds to lay any criminal charges against the officer.
