An Espanola man is being called a hero after saving an elderly man’s life.
While fishing on Little Hannah Lake on Tuesday, Andrew Dagg saw an elderly man in the water and swam to his rescue. The man had fallen out of his boat and was barely holding on. Dagg says the man was wearing a life jacket, but was exhausted from being in the water for so long. Dagg managed to get the man to shore and waited for the OPP to tow them to where an ambulance was waiting.
The elderly man has recovered and the OPP is recommending Dagg for a citation of bravery.
