Four people are running for mayor in Elliot Lake. Incumbent Rick Hamilton is being challenged by two his councillors. They are deputy mayor Al Collette and Tom Farquhar. Also taking a shot at the top municipal post is Dan Marchisella. In Blind River mayor Sue Jensen is being challenged by councilor Alex Solomon for her seat. Also in the running is Andre Berthelot who once sat as Blind River councillor during the early 80’s before concentrating on his law career. Three people are running for mayor in Espanola, Jill Beer, Jeff Lapierre and Ron Piche after incumbent Mike Lehoux decdied not to seek re-election. Of the three challengers only Beer is an incumbent councillor.
