Serpent River First Nation man charged for spousal assault

A Serpent River First Nation man has been charged for domestic assault.

East Algoma OPP says it happened at a home in the First Nation community on Tuesday evening.

Police say a 32-year-old man started an argument with his common-law wife while he was intoxicated. The argument escalated to a point where the man assaulted his wife.

He is set to appear in Blind River Court on May 4th.
