OPP on Manitoulin charged four people with impaired during their annual R.I.D.E. program over the Christmas period. That`s two more than the previous year. This year 1,163 vehicles were stopped over a seven week period at 63 checkpoints. Island police say impaired driving remains the leading cause of criminal deaths in Canada. They add even one drink can reduce your ability to concentrate and lower your reflexes.
