Manitoulin Secondary is one of several schools to receive new musical instruments through the Joan Mantle Music Trust. Among the new instruments are a keyboard. The trust gives Rainbow board schools new instruments each year through fundraising activities. Since first being created eight years ago, the trust has raised $200,000 that is spent on music.
