Blind River switches to LED streetlighting

Blind River is expected to use almost 75 percent less energy for its streetlights by converting to LED lighting.  The project to convert the town’s 591 streetlights is nearing completion and work should wrap up this Friday. Once complete, the new light emitting diodes will consume 72 percent less energy.  Real Term Energy is doing the installation.  It will get paid for the work and ongoing maintenance by getting back some of the money Blind River saves on energy with the new lights.  Elliot Lake and Espanola already have the same LED system.
