The Canadian Coast Guard is providing an ice escort for a tug and barge on Whitefish River today. This is going to cause the ice to break as the escort moves along northern Georgian Bay to get to the Lafarge Terminal. There will likely be broken and fragmented ice tracks left behind by the CCGS Samuel Risley. The Coast Guard and the OPP are warning everyone to stay clear of the area.
