Crash victim was from Val Caron

Sudbury police still haven`t released the name of the person who died last Friday on Municipal Road 80.  However the Sudbury Star has learned that the victim was 54-year-old Brenda Petrant of Val Caron.  Petrant was a passenger in a car that collided with a van.  At the time, the roadway was slippery because of snow and police believe weather may be partly to blame for the fatal crash.  Police are analyzing data they collected at the site including going over the black boxes in the vehicles that recorded speeds and braking action.
