Dr. Deanna Hagan, Huron Shores Family Team physician being recognized

More than 750 family doctors from across Ontario are being recognized by their patients and the Ontario College of Family Physicians for the outstanding care they provide including one in the Huron Shores area.

Dr. Deanna Hagan of the Huron Shores Family Team will be recognized by the Ontario College of Family Physicians this Friday.

Deepy Sur, the CEO of the college says as part of a campaign to highlight the essential role of family physicians, the College asked Ontarians a simple question: ‘Tell us how your family doctor has gone above and beyond for you.’

She adds the College also heard from Ontarians who do not have a family doctor and want one. Currently there are 2.5 million Ontarians without access to a family doctor.

Sur says the College is calling on government and healthcare leaders to continue taking steps to prioritize patient care by increasing access to family doctors.

Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Mike Mantha will be presenting Dr. Hagan with the award.
