Manitoulin Island business run by women recognized by the province

The province has recognized A Manitoulin Island business for its unique ownership.
The provincial Women’s Excellence award was presented last Friday to the Split Rail Brewing Company of Gore Bay.
The company produces high quality, small batch beer and soda and was founded by two women, Andrea Smith and Eleanor Charlton who began brewing in a garage in 2010 and opened the Island’s first craft brewery in 2015.
Rob Flack, the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness says this year’s Excellence in Agriculture Award winners inspire him and demonstrate the extent of the talent that sets Ontario agri-food apart in a competitive global market.
