An Espanola church has launched its 100th Anniversary celebration for 2024.
St. George Anglican Church was filled with celebrants taking turns to ring the steeple bell to welcome the New Year.
The church officially turns 100 years old in October and kicked off its celebrations with ringing the bell at noon, cake, and a social following the launch.
A premier event, it will be followed by another likely in June where couples throughout the community will be invited to renew their wedding vows whether they are members of the church or not.
A summer tea and special dedication by the Anglican Archbishop of Algoma is also planned.
An event will be held every month throughout 2024 to mark the historic milestone.
