Espanola Volunteer Firefighters honour years of service

The Espanola Volunteer Firefighters held their annual Honours and Awards Night this weekend recognizing years of service to the community and surrounding area.

Nine members of the department received service pins including Deputy Chief Henry Girard for 40 years of service, Fire Chief Mike Pichor for 35, and Captains Mike and Jamie Ramsay for 25 and 20 years respectively.

Firefighters were also acknowledged including Marcel Dault for 30 years, Ryan Courtemanche for 15, Curtis Taylor for 10, as well as Nicholas Cormier and David Gunson with five years with the service.

The dinner and awards night were held at the Espanola Legion on Friday night with around 100 people in attendance.
