St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake, The City of Elliot Lake, and the Elliot Lake Physician Recruitment committee has announced the signing of a new physician: Dr. Helene Bouchard.
Dr. Bouchard says it was an easy decision and be part of the community once again having family and being raised in Elliot Lake as well as doing part of her residency at the hospital.
Dr. Bouchard is a recent graduate of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine University specializing in rural emergency medicine, as well as the Royal Military College with a mechanical engineer degree.
She also served for 14 years as an Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and then continued her education by getting a master’s degree in education from the University of Québec.
Dr. Bouchard will be working in the emergency department.
