Back to school today with end of walkout

All students across Ontario will be back in the classroom this morning.

Locally, families of the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board will see their children return to school today.

Board chair, Sandra Turco says yesterday morning, Premier Doug Ford announced that the government would be repealing Bill 28.

She says a short time later, media informed that all CUPE and OPSEU workers will be returning to their schools and workplaces this morning.

Turco says this means that all students are to attend school for in-person programming today including schools in Espanola, Elliot Lake, Spanish and Blind River.

She adds transportation and daycare will also return to their regular schedules.

All other boards remained open or returned to in-class learning yesterday.
