A Northern Ontario woman is among the 20 semi-finalists for the Walmart Mom of the Year Award. As one of top 20, Kate Glover from Englehart has won $500 and will be given another $500 for the charity of her choice. Glover was chosen from more than 12,000 nominations. Glover is a professor who teaches environmental courses and chairs the Timiskaming Stewardship Council. If she makes it as a top six finalist, she’ll be awarded $10,000 plus another 10 G’s will be given to the charity of her choice. Public voting is on until July 4th.
