St. Joseph General Hospital in Elliot Lake is dealing with two separate outbreaks of two different health issues, which occurred over the weekend.
CEO Jeremy Stevenson says they restricted visitors at the drug rehab facility, Oaks Centre and the long-term facility, St. Joseph’s Manor on Saturday.
He says the manor is dealing with an outbreak of acute respiratory illness while the treatment centre has a COVID-19 outbreak.
He says Essential Care Partners and direct family members of palliative residents are the only visitors allowed.
Stevenson adds the hospital is working with Algoma Public Health with both outbreaks and will provide updates if there is any changes to the mandates put in place.
