An Espanola woman has not received the answers she was hoping for from the Espanola council about the snow removal bylaw.
Wanda Laplante and her neighbour Dennell Turgeon met with the council to discuss concerns about the lack of responses to five complaints made with the town over the last three years as to how she moves or removes snow.
Mayor Jill Beer says the town has no record of those complaints, which has both women reacting in disbelief.
Beer says Laplante must put her snow on her yard or put it on top of snowbanks without widening them as outlined in the bylaw.
The women were not allowed to talk about what they allege is harassment by the bylaw officer, which the council feels is a separate matter, but Beer did say they should take those matters to court as outlined on the back of tickets.
Both women were dissatisfied with the response but will be following through with the Mayor’s advice.
