OPP investigates fatal collision near Sault Ste. Marie

A Sudbury man with ties to the Espanola area has died as a result of injuries sustained in a collision.

Sault Ste. Marie OPP Constable Trevor Tremblay says police were called out to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 on the east entrance of Sault Ste. Marie late Monday afternoon.

He says the investigation revealed the driver of the sedan had lost control, entered the ditch and the vehicle rolled several times.

He adds the driver was ejected from the vehicle.

Tremblay says 55-year-old Calvin Mandigo of Sudbury sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation continues.
