A long-time Algoma District School Board trustee has been acknowledged at the provincial level for his years of service.
Board director, Lucia Reece says one of the highlights of the 2020 Public Education Symposium held late last month in Toronto, is the presentation of the Ontario Public School Board Association’s 2020 President’s Award.
She says this year’s recipient is Russell Reid who has served as a trustee for North Algoma and Chapleau for 26 years.
Reece adds he also served two years as board chair, five as vice-chair, as well as worked on many special committees over the years.
A resident of Wawa, she adds he has been an active volunteer within his community.
