School supports assists toy drive

It is always more fun to go shopping for someone else during the holidays and Espanola students are no exception to that rule of gift-giving.

Espanola Lions Club spokesperson, Grant Lewis, says students from AB Ellis Public and Sacred Heart teamed up with the Lions to go to Giant Tiger to fill carts full of toys.

Lewis says some 200 children from 88 families will receive gifts under the tree thanks to that generosity since the club matched the fundraising from the students.

In all, the eager shoppers were able to buy over $1,300 in toys.

The wrap-up party is today in the Georgian Room at the Pinewood at 10:00 am… everyone is invited to bring their scissors.
