Food banks benefit from student’s Halloween trick-or-treating

Several schools in the local area took part in the annual Scare Away Hunger Campaign on Halloween night collecting donations for local food banks.

École Franco-Ouest in Espanola collected just over 1,200 items and $150, which will be distributed between the Espanola Helping Hand Food Bank and the Massey Food Bank.

Manitoulin Secondary School students also collected around 1,200 items for the Manitoulin Food Bank.

And students from École Jeunesse-Nord in Blind River collected 354 items for the Blind River Food Bank.
