Flu shots available at Espanola FHT

The Espanola Family Health Team is set to offer free flu shots to the public.

RN Chelsey Sisson says the first round of flu shots will be available for those at high risk on October 23rd.

She says that can include those with chronic conditions, children under five, seniors over 65 and pregnant women.

Sisson adds there will be clinics throughout the month of November for the general population.

 

October 23rd, 9 am-3 pm * High-Risk ONLY*

November 6th 9am-12pm and 4pm-7pm

November 11th 1pm-6pm

November 13th, 9 am-3 pm

November 15th, 10 am-2 pm *Webbwood Site*

 

*The following groups of people are considered High Risk and are eligible for the October 23rd clinic*

– Children 5 years of age and under

– Adults 65 years of age and older

– Women who are pregnant or up to two weeks postpartum

– Native Americans, including Alaska Natives

– People with Medical Conditions including:

                – Asthma

                – Neurologic and neurodevelopmental conditions

                – Chronic lung disease

                – Heart disease

                – Blood disorders

                – Endocrine disorders

                – Kidney disorders

                – Liver disorders

                – Metabolic disorders

                – Weakened immune system due to disease (HIV, Cancer, etc.) and medication (chemo, etc.)

                – Children 19 years of age who are receiving long term aspirin therapy

                – People with extreme obesity (BMI>40)
