Northern Ontario slated to open five more cannabis shops

First Nations are being offered the opportunity to open an approved cannabis shop on a first come, first serve basis.
A new Ontario government lottery for 50 new cannabis shops also includes eight of them earmarked for First Nations.

There will be a separate process for First Nations on a first come, first served basis.

Northern Ontario is getting five more stores, but in specific communities.

In the first round, two stores opened in Sudbury

In the second round, stores will be opened in Kenora, North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay and Timmins.

Seven stores have also been approved for eastern Ontario; six for the Greater Toronto Area; 13 for Toronto, and; 11 for western Ontario.
