ESPANOLA OPP INVESTIGATING MULTIPLE THEFTS FROM VEHICLES

The Espanola OPP is currently investigating multiple thefts from vehicles in the Town of Espanola.

The thefts occurred over the last two nights and into this morning.

The OPP is investigating a number of incidents where thieves have gone into unlocked vehicles and stealing articles such as wallets, credit cards, cash, bank cards and other items.
The suspects then attended businesses and made purchases with these stolen items.

Thieves will often target easy to carry items so that it doesn’t impede with their movement.
All suspicious activity needs to be reported to the police.
Try to obtain as much information as possible while assuring your safety, and do not interfere with the crime scene.

Vehicle owners can do simple things to decrease the risk of being victimized such as:
Never leave a vehicle running unattended;
LOCK your doors;
Roll up your windows;
Keep valuables out of sight;
Pocket your keys
Always park in a well-lit area.
