The Liberal candidate for Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing, Heather Wilson of Espanola, has received the official nod this weekend.
Wilson says she is looking forward to working hard to win the riding and be the voice of AMK in Ottawa in October.
“I, along with the Liberal Party, am in a position to create real change. By electing a Liberal Member of Parliament, AMK will finally be back to having the support of a Government in power. We will not stop until traditions of support, care and progress are rebuilt and in this riding. With your assistance and commitment, we can and we will be part of the government of our great Nation, and no longer looking from the outside in.”
“As Pearson said, ‘it is time to excite the daring, to test the strong and to give promise to the timid.  It is a time of direction and decision’.  And that is exactly what Justin Trudeau and the Liberal party is doing and I will work hard to win this riding and be your voice in Ottawa this October.”
The nomination meeting was held this past weekend in Spanish.
The federal election is slated for October when she will take on incumbent, NDPer Carol Hughes.
