The Manitoulin-Espanola OPP have released the identities of two men who died in two separate, unconnected residential fires over the last month.
Community services officer, Constable Marie Ford, says the Espanola office has identified human remains found in a burnt out residence on Cutler Lake Road following a fire last Sunday.
She says the remains have been identified as Sandy Alexandar Nott (KNOTT), a 36-year-old man from the Township of Sables-Spanish Rivers.
Ford says Manitoulin police were also called out to do a wellness check on a remote residence in Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands back on February 3rd.
They found human remains, which have now been identified as 47-year-old Jason Mabbott (MAY_BOT) of NEMI (NEM-MEE).
Ford adds neither fire is considered suspicious.
