The Northern Ontario group FONOM is worried that the Liberals are re-introducing legislation that can hurt resource sectors. The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities says it’s known as anti-SLAPP legislation. Under it, groups funded by interests outside Canada can attack our resources without fear of reprisal when they act on wrong information. FONOM says groups acting this way can hurt our resources. FONOM wants the province to carry out consultations before moving ahead with the legislation.
