Planned power outage in Serpent River area and Manitoulin Island

The Serpent River First Nation area and most of Manitoulin Island will be affected by a planned power outage.

Serpent River First Nation, and the townships of Sheddan, Lewis, Victoria and Salter will be affected by Hydro One – Algoma’s planned outage this Sunday, October 28th from 12 noon until 6:00pm in

All Hydro One Customers, just over 1,000 of them, impacted by this planned maintenance outage have been contacted that the outage is required for regular maintenance.

According to a press release from Hydro One, most of Manitoulin Island will also be without power on Sunday from six am until noon affecting nearly 11,000 customers.

The following communities will be affected: Carnarvon, Burpee and Mills, M’Chigeeng, Allan, Gordon, Robinson, Central Manitoulin, Bidwell, Gore Bay, Allan, Billings, Dawson, Barrie Island, Cockburn Island, Howland, Sheshegwaning, Zhiibaahaasing, Sandfield, Sheguiandah, Bay of Islands, Killarney, Wiikwemkoong, Whitefish River First Nation, Aundeck Omni Kaning, Tehkummah, Assiginack, Curtin, Little Current, Sheguiandah First Nation and Mongowin.
