The Saubles – Spanish 4H Club proved to be gracious hosts, and winners, at this year’s district competition.
Diane Emiry says in late July, the club hosted the Sudbury District Go for the Gold Competition at the Massey Royal Canadian Legion.
Competitors answered 4-H trivia questions covering topics including livestock, agriculture, soil science, rabbits, cooking, crafts, machinery and politics, explained Emiry.
The Saubles-Spanish club had two teams and the Sudbury Club one with the local team winning the competition.
The winning team now qualifies to compete at provincials, which will be held at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in November.
The Go for the Gold Competition has been held since 1981.
