Authorities don’t know the source of a mystery gas smell in Capreol. Police got several reports of a strange odour from a neighbourhood prompting a response from Sudbury firefighters. Natural gas authorities were also called and they assured the public there was no natural gas leak. Police now think the smell could have come from a diesel train passing through the area, but they’re not 100 percent sure. The smell dissipated after a while and life returned to normal.
