UPDATE FOR TUESDAY: Fire crews continue to be busy fighting forest fires in the region

As of Sunday evening, there were 60 active fires across the northeast, according to an update from the Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services.

Of those, 28 are not under control and 32 are being held, under control or being observed.

Resources, including firefighters and equipment, from across the country, United States and Mexico continue to arrive in Ontario.

Parry Sound 33 was very active once again yesterday.

Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry imposed a mandatory evacuation of all areas bordering the French River Provincial Park, east to Highway 69, Key River and the Pickerel River, as well as Hartley Bay.

An evacuation alert to all residents within the area who have road access to their residences or cottages asks them to be prepared to evacuate pending a change in the fire situation.

The fire will be remapped as soon as smoke conditions permit.

Meanwhile, crews also continue to fight two major fire clusters in the Temagami and North Bay area.

A total open fire ban is in place throughout North-Eastern Ontario.
