Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Espanola, Killarney, and Manitoulin Island. Forecasters say an approaching low pressure system and warm front is expected to bring periods of rain over the next 48 hours resulting in total rainfall amounts of 30 to 60 mm by Monday evening. Rain is expected to be fairly light starting today but will become more intense tonight into Monday morning. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall and localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Environment Canada warns you should not approach washouts near rivers, creeks, and culverts, and you need to keep children and pets away from creeks and river banks.
