Federal government supporting youth digital skills

The federal government is investing in young Canadians to provide them with the digital skills needed for tomorrow.

Thanks to a $50-million investment in coding and digital skills training across Canada, including a $2-million investment in Science North, schools will be able to build on digital skills.

The funding was announced by Sudbury MP Paul Lefebvre and Nickel Belt MP Marc Serré this week at Science North, on behalf of Navdeep Bains, the Minister of Industry, Science and Economic Development.

The CanCode program gives students from kindergarten to Grade 12 the opportunity to learn coding and other digital skills and provide teachers with the tools they need.

Funding is also being provided to schools in the Algoma and Manitoulin Districts.
