Just more than $1,300 was raised in Espanola in a walk for ovarian cancer. Seventy-five people took part in the event which was organized by the local group Teal for Toes. The dollar amount doesn’t include a breakfast put on by the Espanola Lions. Teal for Toes is raising money for a PET scanner that’s used in the early detection of ovarian cancer. It set $10,000 as its goal and it’s 40 percent of the way there.
