An Espanola group trying to raise money for a PET scanner for Northeastern Ontario is making steady progress. The group Teal for Toes has raised a quarter of the $10,000 it promised to generate for the specialized equipment. A PET scan detects ovarian cancer in its earliest stages. The Espanola group added to its commitment by bringing in nearly $1,300 during a grocery bag event at Winkel’s. The next big fundraiser for the group is an annual walk on September 9th.
