Algoma Manitoulin MPP Mike Mantha says the Liberals’ ongoing drive to sell Hydro One is going to hit low income people very hard. Mantha says energy already accounts for a very large percent of everyday living costs for this group.
That’s according to figures released by the Financial Accountability Officer. Mantha says energy will cost even more for lower-income groups once Hydro goes private and operators charge extra for their power. Mantha says stopping the further sell-off of Hydro One is one way to keep rates from rising.
