The fall sitting of the House of Commons is still some months away, but federal New Democrats are getting ready for it. Algoma Manitoulin Kapuskasing MP Carol Hughes says the NDP are working on legislation to protect the Great Lakes from invasive fish. Specifically, the Bill would recommend a multi-prong approach to fighting invasive Asian carp. Hughes says the legislation will provide a low-cost solution to keep Asian carp out of the Great Lakes. She’s hopeful the feds consider the NDP Bill.
