Pre-register for a clinic on aluminium dust in Massey tomorrow

The Elliot Lake woman trying to show that aluminium dust could be a factor in miners developing neurological diseases has another pre-registration tomorrow. Janice Martell will pre-register retired miners or their survivors who want to go to an intake clinic in Sudbury in October.

Martell says the WSIB doesn’t recognize aluminum dust as a contributing factor towards things like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. But she’s certain the dust causes the diseases. She’s been building a registry of miners who inhaled aluminum before heading underground with the hope the numbers prove her right.

The Sudbury clinic is October 3rd and 4th at the Steelworkers Hall and Martel’s pre-registration is tomorrow at the Massey Fair from 9 to 6.
