If you’re using an invasive species as live bait, you could get in trouble with Conservation Officers from the Ministry of Natural Resources. They are patrolling local waterways this summer searching for people who are using invasive species of fish. Gobbies are one of their concerns because they’re an aggressive fish that’s a big threat to Canadian waters. Anglers can only use fish specified as bait on Canadian waters.
