The commissioner who held the inquiry into the Algo Centre Mall collapse in Elliot Lake has no plan to keep parts of his findings secret. Paul Belanger says the entire report will come out around the end of October. His decision kills a bid by a former engineer to black-out part of the report until after his trial. Robert Wood, who inspected the mall before the roof-top caved in, faces criminal charges and his trial is more than a year away. Wood believes he won’t get a fair trial if the report comes out before his court case. But Belanger says it’s not fair to the public for him to wait until after Wood’s trial to release his findings.
