Be careful if you get a phone call from someone claiming to represent Microsoft. North Bay police are fielding complaints where a con artist calls a homeowner to say a computer virus is attacking Windows programs. The caller then asks for your password in order to protect your computer from the virus. Police say don’t fall for the scam. Just hang-up, but if you have call display, forward the number to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
