Swimming advisories issued in Blind River

Algoma Public Health is issuing a swimming advisory for Old Mill Beach and Sellers Park in Blind River. Water samples were taken in June, and the health unit says they exceed bacterial guidelines for safe swimming. The health unit says to take into consideration weather conditions the day before you plan to swim. Heavy rain and high winds can boost the bacteria levels.

When the water is safe again to swim, a notification will be sent out. In the meantime, check out the Beach Warnings section on the Algoma Public Health’s website for all of the details.
