The Elliot Lake Wildcats will honour NHL great and Hall of Famer Gordie Howe at a future home game. The Cats are also retiring the number 9 jersey which Howe wore during his career, mostly with the Detroit Red Wings. Howe died last month at the age of 88. His hockey career crossed into six decades. The Cats will raise a banner to Howe at a home game during the upcoming NOJHL season with the date to be announced.
