Espanola is now connected with next year’s Pan-Am Games which are being hosted by Toronto. The paper town is one of 130 communities across Canada that is a stop-over for the Pan-Am Torch Relay. The relay will involve three thousand runners in all and the torch leaves Mexico May 27th and arrives in Toronto on July 10th. The exact date that the Pan-Am Torch will pass through Espanola hasn’t been determined yet. However the town is now creating a planning group to welcome the torch.
