The Adult Education Centre in Elliot Lake is on the move

Elliot Lake’s adult education centre is moving. For the last quarter century the centre has taught people out of the former Roman Avenue Public School. But come the fall, adult students will get their education from the centre’s new home at Elliot Lake Secondary School.

The move will allow the Algoma District School Board to close the Roman Avenue site and in the process save $75,000 a year. There’s plenty of space at the high school to accommodate the centre since ELSS was built for 1,200 students but only has 400 nowadays.
